Surviving No Where The No Where Apocalypse Book 2 eBook e a lake

There are so many things wrong with this story that it's hard to figure out where to start. The main character is lazy and stupid. He clearly has a two digit IQ and I am convinced that the Author has never spent a single day in the country. Every single time someone looks at him he gives up his gun. Two guys both armed and the bad guy says throw your gun over here. "oh ok" and then his gun is in the dirt. Even so I was willing to give this end of civilization saga the benefit of buying the second book. Then a chapter or two into book two the author explains how our "hero" reads "War and Peace" and then reads it again to make sure he understood the story and then he threw the book into his wood stove. Because of course no one else would have any use for a book. Maybe he thought that he would just log on and buy some more books... All game comes from hunting deer with an endless supply of bullets. No traps, no fish, clearly he's never heard of a trot line. No one in this world has ever heard of smoking meet or fish. Early in the first book thay let the meat in a freezer rot rather than preserve it. It's stupid writing and a very shallow unlikable main character. I'm SO done with this author.

Surviving No Where The No Where Apocalypse Book 2 eBook e a lake Reviews

In this second book in the series, author E A Lake takes us to the desperation of a group of survivors, how they struggle, and how they pull through. Wonderful follow up to the first book of the series
This book isn't as good as the first in the series. The characters are filled out a little better, but the lead character and most of the others do not learn from their experiences. They keep getting in situations which are similar but they still can't prepare for them. I will take a look at the next book when it comes out.
I read the first one over a couple days, this one in a few hours, this story has really pulled me in! Normal people overcoming abnormal and impossible challenges all the while knowing things aren’t going to become magically better. There is no white knight or fairy tale ending, just people doing their very best to survive.
This story is very realistic on how terrible surviving in the Upper Penensula is in the winter following the end of civilization. Nothing goes as expected. Why did not the group move to a house beside a lake so they could fish and walk to the farm fields instead of staying at an easy target house? They needed stashed of supplies at several houses. First thing should have been a trip to the library for survival books if they planned on staying so remote.
I enjoyed the first book and thought I’d get the series. I found subsequent books lacking in logical flow. The main character never took defensive measures to protect himself. Easy to do. Never seemed to watch his back; always set or gave up his guns; and the bad guys always wanted to talk before taking action and someone always seemed to come to his rescue. It was a nice set-up for a story but lost direction.
What a find! e a lake has instantly become one of my favorites. I put this two novel set among my top ten dystopian fiction works I've read, along with On the Beach, One Second After, The Road, The Book of Eli, A Canticle for Liebowitz to mention a few. Very well done by creating a realistic setting mixed with the inevitable highs and lows of human kind.
I LOVED this book just as much as the first book. Good plot, wonderful characters, and very good editing. No matter how good a book is if it has lousy editing it ruins everything else. When the words are misspelled, grammar is grossly screwed up, or words transposed, I get so annoyed and irritated I can't enjoy the story. My grammar sucks, but I'm neither and author or editor. Also I'm not writing to entertain. But Mr. Lake this and the previous book I read are definitely worthy of 5stars if not more. Can't wait to read the 3rd book, and plan on reading any other books you have out on the ether. Thank You for keeping my happily entertained. When I'm reading a story I'm not just looking for a little entertainment. I know I've "clicked" with the author and the story, when I'm pulled into that world. Almost like I'm another character and I'm experiencing everything along with the rest of the characters. Well you've succeeded Mr. Lake along with only a handful of other authors. Calling you Mr. Lake seems too formal since we're on this journey as fellow travelers in no where. Waiting anxiously for the next leg of our trip. Sincerely, Sally DeMicke
